Certification Overview

About this Certification

The Professional Certification in Python Programming is designed to provide learners with a strong foundation in one of the world’s most widely used programming languages.

The certification introduces Python syntax, variables, data types, operators, conditional statements, loops, functions, modules, error handling, file management, and object-oriented programming. Learners will gain practical experience in writing, testing, debugging, and improving Python programs.

Participants will learn how to work with lists, tuples, dictionaries, sets, strings, and other essential data structures. They will also explore how Python can be used for task automation, data processing, web development, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and software development.

The programme focuses on practical coding rather than theory alone. Learners will complete guided exercises, programming challenges, mini-projects, and a final application-development project.

The certification also introduces professional programming practices, including code organisation, documentation, version control fundamentals, problem-solving techniques, and responsible use of third-party libraries.

Upon successful completion, participants should be able to:

Explain the basic principles of programming and software development.
Install and configure Python and a suitable code editor.
Use variables, data types, operators, and expressions correctly.
Apply conditional statements and loops to solve programming problems.
Create reusable functions and organise code into modules.
Work with lists, tuples, dictionaries, sets, and strings.
Read from and write to text, CSV, and other basic file formats.
Identify, handle, and debug common programming errors.
Apply object-oriented programming concepts using classes and objects.
Use built-in and external Python libraries.
Automate basic repetitive tasks using Python scripts.
Develop simple command-line or graphical applications.
Write readable, structured, and documented Python code.
Complete and present a functional Python programming project.
