Course Overview

This course develops practical understanding of operating-system concepts and administration. Learners explore boot processes, graphical interfaces, file systems, users and permissions, process and memory management, device drivers, utilities, security and troubleshooting. Windows-based activities are supplemented with introductory Linux command-line tasks so students gain transferable skills across common desktop environments.

• Install, configure and update an operating system using appropriate procedures.
• Manage files, folders, storage, users, permissions and basic system settings.
• Describe process, memory and device management at an introductory level.
